Still Point Arts Quarterly--featured storyI received a call late this summer from Christine Cote, editor of the Still Point Quarterly and owner of the online Still Point Art Gallery.

She wanted to feature me in the fabulous art magazine she writes!!!

Right before we left for Paradise City, I received my printed copy of the magazine.

What a great piece she did on me. The quality of her writing and art choices just blows me away. On two pages she wrote about my life and featured My Drum, My Beat, My Reality. The next 10 pages are full-page reproductions of my artwork. It is printed on fabulous heavy paper with just the right amount of gloss.

Still Point Arts Quarterly--my paintingsIf you are a fan of my work you might want to take a look at what Christine has to offer. You can buy a single issue or subscribe. Click here.

My work has now been featured in Mumbia India; Paris France; along with various US publications, including The Boston Globe and Chronicle Magazine.

Back From Paradise (Northampton)

Paradise City 2011 booth--long viewWe had only seen our full booth on paper so the morning of the show we had to set everything up and it was a hectic start. It came out great as you can see from the photos and we got loads of compliments. More importantly, people felt they could spend as time as they wanted in our booth–some even coming back multiple times with friends!

Paradise City 2011 booth--insideAs with everything, it was a learning experience. I think the next show, we are going to tweak it a little and set up a little more private work area.

Although well attended, the 80 degree weather made me think of running through a sprinkler but it was a little late in the season for that!

Paradise City 2011--Welcome to my booth! The good news was that we still did well. Larry and I met art lovers and buyers, collectors, gallery owners and professional fellow artists from all over.

I want to thank all the people who helped us and made it possible to physically pull this off. This includes the good folks who loaded and unloaded our two trucks as well as the friends and family who helped with the set-up and breakdown of the booth. We could not have done it without you.

And while there was no changing foliage to speak of on the way to the show, on the return home, the color had begun to blossom. Clearly a good omen for our upcoming Paradise City Marlborough Show Nov 18-20.

Anticipating Paradise City – Northampton ’11

Paradise City 2011 Magazine AdParadise City in Northampton is next weekend. I am excited and nervous. [Click here for more info]

Oct 8, 9 & 10, 2011
3 County Fairgrounds
54 Old Ferry Rd, off Route 9
Northampton, MA 01060

I’m not sure if you got a copy in the mail, but I ran an ad in the Paradise City Fall Guide 2011. What do you think? Do you think that describing my work as “Vibrant Colors, Geometric Shapes and a Touch of Humor on Canvas,” captures their spirit?

Paradise City 2011 Magazine--Picturing the MusicEven more thrilling, I am pleased to report that My Drum, My Beat, My Reality is featured in the first article in the Fall Guide. The show within a show is “Picturing the Music”.

Read my poem in the original painting:

“Don’t listen for my drum. It exists only for me!
The beat I follow unknown to others…
A steady cacophony beats in my head….
My drum, my beat, my reality.
“

What synergy!

I hope to see you there!
